Join Modern Richmond on May 21st at 5:30 p.m. to tour the personalresidence and backyard studio of architectural designer Aaron Olson.
This 1950’s MCM residence near the James River has been a home for ongoing creative experimentation ever since Olson purchased the home twenty years ago. A series of additions and renovations have infused natural light, drama, open flowing spaces and stylish functionality while respecting the original home’s scale and sensibility. At the heart of each project are Olson’s commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail and willingness to push boundaries. Highlights include the japanese-inspired balustrade built by the owner, steel-cantilevered primary suite addition, outdoor patio with pergola, and recently completed Gaudi-inspired powder room featuring organic lines and clad in Venetian plaster.
The Designs by Aaron Olson studio, a soul-filled space with a shed roof in Olson’s backyard, will also be open for tour.
