Highland Hills is the only neighborhood in central Virginia exclusively consisting of mid-century homes. Located in beautiful and historic Bon Air in Chesterfield County, the approximate 83 homes in Highland Hills were developed in the mid-fifties by National Homes and featured modern designs by the famous architect Charles Goodman.

These 1950s houses have common design elements:  low-sloped roofs with generous overhangs; horizontal siding; flat-roofed carports; wide expanses of floor to ceiling windows; and unique chimney designs.  Basic post and beam construction was used to keep costs low.  Nestled in wooded hills, these mid-century modern designs, in Goodman’s own words, make the houses appear to “…slide through the trees.”

Highland Hills homes on the tour include:

8252 Ben Nevis Drive
8332 Ben Nevis Drive
2124 Flodden Circle
8317 Robert Bruce Drive
