Chris Kogut – Current Homeowner
Built in 1936 by George Hoppe Jr, 1900 S Meadow Street represents the first example of modernism introduced to Richmond, VA. Influenced by the International/Bauhaus movement, Hoppe built over 15 homes throughout Richmond, many recognizable by the use of simple brick rectangular design, steel casement windows, glass block and flat roofs.
The style, river views and nature are what attracted Chris Kogut and Tom Peyser to Meadow St a little over two years ago. They purchased the house from Kent Eanes and Andrea Levine, who had spent over 10 years bringing the house back to life, while respecting its modern roots. Chris and Tom immediately embraced the home and the location, bringing with them an eclectic collection of art and midcentury furnishings.
Please join us for the first of several Modern Richmond Returns in 2019.
