Join Modern Richmond on June 9th at 5:30 PM for a discussion on Mid-Century Interior Design with Sara Reed, Assistant Professor, VCU Department of Interior Design; Janet Morris, owner of Mid Century Morris; Wendy Umanoff, owner of Umanoff Design; and moderator Susan Morgan, Managing Editor of R•Home Magazine.
This virtual event will be presented from Mid Century Morris’ showroom in Scotts Addition. The speakers will share their insights on the interior styles and furnishings that typified domestic interiors of the 1950s and 1960s.
Sara will describe how mid-century interior design evolved from early modernism. Janet will be sharing her curated mid-century modern furniture, art, and accessories. Wendy will be showing the collection of licensed furnishings by MENU, the design and manufacturing company that has reissued selected pieces created by her father, industrial designer Arthur Umanoff.
